Joey Rodriguez
Joey Rodriguez is a Clinical Research Assistant and a School and Work Coach at the Response to Risk program.
Currently connected to the research group through Northeastern University's cornerstone experiential learning program, he is involved in the current clinical, outreach, research, and training initiatives at Response to Risk. Jointly as a school and working coach on the InVEST study, he also supports the program in maintaining and updating databases, data entry, organizing and filing registration, and editing materials for programs various research studies research studies.
Academic: Joey is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in psychology and a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy at Northeastern University.
Interest and Experience: Prior to joining the Response to Risk research program, Joey joined Dr. Isaacowitz lifespan emotional development lab where he worked on bridging the gap between one’s current affective state and desired affective state using a psychologically constructed model of emotion regulation. He is interested in understanding how to regulate emotion and apply it to the well-being of other people. Joey’s future aspiration is to carry out his own research as a future graduate student. He would like to investigate the efficacy of today’s diagnostic assessment and screening tools in conjunction with how they support the well-being of others who are experiencing mental health issues. Joey spends time outside of RTR with his family or at Northeastern as a teacher assistant and peer advisor.
