Olivia Aveson, PhD

Academic: Dr. Olivia Aveson earned a master of arts degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her doctorate in clinical psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She is a practicing clinician and forensic evaluator at a high acuity correctional psychiatric facility.  

  

Interests and Experience: Prior to graduate school Olivia worked as a Neuropsychology Technician at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. Here she administered comprehensive neuropsychological batteries with a variety of patient populations. Over the course of her clinical career, she has worked as a clinician at numerous inpatient state hospitals, forensic psychiatric settings, and correctional facilities, developing a specialty in the treatment and evaluation of psychosis spectrum disorders. Olivia is interested in increasing equity in access to mental health care and improving the treatment and care of individuals with serious mental illness within the criminal justice system.
